How humanity will discover the meaning of life

“Earth is the cradle of humanity, but one cannot remain in the cradle forever”

- Konstantin E. Tsiolkovsky, Father of Astronautics and Rocket Dynamics

For thousands of years, humans have looked up at the night sky. It was filled with countless stars and several planets. We studied these objects, modelled them, sent telescopes to take pictures of them and sent probes to monitor them. We even sent people to see what it all looked like!
Our desire for the heavens knew no bounds. It was almost as if they were beckoning us.
Thousands of years into the future, when humanity expands beyond our home star system, the first man staring into deep space will be enlightened stronger than any Buddha. He will know at that time what our purpose in life is and why we are here. He will know, whether we have a collective divine will to fulfil or whether we are an accident with no purpose or place. When that man realises the truth, he will either tell the world in excitement or take his own life in disappointment.
But until we reach the stars, we will never know the meaning of our existence.
